AmCham Hosts Monthly Meeting with His Excellency E. Bat Uul, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and the Honorable Piper Anne Wind Campbell, U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia
ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia – The American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia (AmCham) hosted a meeting on Thursday, July 30, 2015 with His Excellency E. Bat Uul, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and the Honorable Piper Anne Wind Campbell, U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia. The meeting convened over 50 domestic and international business leaders to hear directly from our distinguished guests.
Mayor E. Bat Uul delivered remarks and stressed the important role that the private sector and investors plays in advancing democracy in Mongolia. He also commented that he has a “ great appreciation for the work that AmCham does synergizing and energizing the private sector.” His remarks were followed by a brief Q&A session.
Following the Mayor’s remarks, U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia, Piper Anne Wind Campbell, went on to address the audience and echoed the Mayor’s message on the importance of the private sector stating, ““business is the answer to growing Mongolia’s economy.” She emphasized the need for collaboration between the public and private sectors and the positive result this can have on attracting “solid, long-term new business” to Mongolia.
AmCham Mongolia is an independent membership-driven organization that seeks to build, strengthen, and protect business between the United States and Mongolia and to actively promote Mongolia as a destination for American investment. AmCham Mongolia holds regular Monthly Meetings between its member companies and policymakers to discuss issues concerning the business environment and investment opportunities in Mongolia. Monthly Meetings are an important platform for AmCham members, public officials, and other stakeholders to network, build relationships, and discuss solutions to policy challenges.
