On September 14, 2015 Oybek joined Tenger Financial Group as the CEO of Tenger Insurance LLC, and was nominated to represent Xac Bank as a Corporate Member at AmCham Mongolia. For 20+ years Mr. Khalilov has worked in the private insurance market area working with American International Group, Inc. He has spent five years from 1994 to 1999 with American International Group, Inc. in London/UK serving as the CEO of political risk JV. He was in charge of AIG general insurance operations in Central Asia and Caucasus from 2000 to 2015. His entire professional career is showcased by major contributions in taking companies to greater levels of financial, competitive, and operational performance. He has an in in-depth knowledge of property, energy, casualty, and financial lines and accident insurance and political risk insurance products. Oybek joined AmCham in Uzbekistan in 1997 and held positions of Board Secretary, Chairman of Banking and Finance Committee, Chairman of Membership Committee. Oybek was elected as Vice-President of AmCham in Uzbekistan in 2000. In May 2010 resigned with honors from the Board in Uzbekistan and in March 2012 was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan.
Sunjidmaa joined Oyu Tolgoi in September 2018 as General Manager, External Affairs and Communications. Sunjidmaa has extensive experiences in areas of External affairs, Partnership development, Stakeholder management, Communications and Social performance.She worked as Manager for Corporate Affairs and Sustainability in Anglo American and Peabody Energy. As External Affairs and Partnership Officer of the World Bank, she managed external affairs, partnerships and communications of the bank operations and programs in Mongolia.She served as a Chair of the Mongolian National Mining Association from 2015 to 2017.
Sunjidmaa holds a Master of Science from Chemical Technology Institute in Prague, Czech Republic and completed an international executive program of the Academy of International Marketing and Management in Hamburg, Germany. She also graduated from the Fletcher School, Tufts University in MA, USA and holds a Global Master of Arts degree.
David Reiner, Founding member & CEO of MSM Group LLC is a U.S. citizen with residence in Ulaanbaatar. He holds degrees in Economics/Politics Science and Law. Prior to his career at MSM, he worked as a Financial Adviser and Associate Lawyer in the USA, Japan, and Mongolia. He speaks English, Japanese, Mongolian, and Spanish.
Mr. Munkhbat Chuluun has over seven years of experience working in mining sector and currently serves as a President and Executive Director of SouthGobi Sands LLC, one of the largest coal mining companies and an affiliate company of SouthGobi Resources Ltd., which is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Munkhbat is as well an Honorary Council-General of New Zealand in Mongolia. He has a broad experience working for government institutions and at international organizations. From 2005 until 2012 Munkhbat served as a Deputy Prosecutor General of Mongolia. He is now a President of Mongol-New Zealand Friendship Society and a Board member of Public Administration magazine. He holds BA in Law from the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Russia and MSSc in Public Administration and Public Policy from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
Mr. Koppa, an American citizen, is Executive Vice Chairman of TDB as well as President of TDB Capital LLC. He came to Mongolia in October 2004 as part of the management and technical assistance program provided to TDB by ING Bank. Mr. Koppa has been active in Mongolia’s financial and business community. For six years he was Chairman of Mongolian Mortgage Corporation and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Mongolia for several years. In May 2011, Mr. Koppa received the Polar Star Award from President Elbegdorj in recognition to his contribution to developing the banking and finance sector in Mongolia. In 2007, Mr. Koppa was honored by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry with its SILK ROAD AWARD for his contribution to sustainable growth in the local financial sector. Mongolia represents Mr. Koppa’s twelfth country in his long international banking career. He is a graduate in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin. Among community involvement in past country work experiences, Mr. Koppa can include service on the Board of Directors of AmChams in Hong Kong and Milan, Italy.
Ms. Enkhtsetseg has 25 years of working experience in various key management positions at MCS Group. She has extensive knowledge in various fields like Energy and Infrastructure, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Real Estate and Mining. She is particularly involved in the decision making of key new business projects and its implementations, key investment decision-making of the group, overall leadership structure and strategic plan of the group. Currently, Ms. Enkhtsetseg serves as Vice President and also as BoD member of MCS Group. Ekhtsetseg holds Master's Degree in Business Administration from Maastricht University and fluently speaks English and Russian.
Mr. Biondo had over 30 years international experience in the hotel management field, including 27 years with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Career has included General Manager positions in four different locations in China, and most recently as General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel Ulaanbaatar. Before coming to Mongolia, international work experience included assignments to China (7 locations), Fiji Islands, Taiwan, and Philippines. He arrived in UB in July 2014 to lead the Shangri-La pre-opening team, successfully opened the hotel in June 2015 and retired from Shangri-La in June 2018. Currently, Mr. Biondo is Chairman of the Board of Trustee for the International School of Ulaanbaatar with 4 year service, including chair position since April 2017.
Mr. Liotta is a letterhead partner of MahoneyLiotta LLP and has 15 years of experience with Mongolia beginning in 2000 as a Peace Corps Volunteer. MahoneyLoitta is an amalgamation of some of the most experienced legal service providers and specialists from Mongolia and abroad. Mr. Liotta was named a leading lawyer for commercial practice in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and as one of the world’s leading mining practitioners in Who’s Who Legal. He advises on market entry strategies, local partner selection and a diverse range of legal services in the minerals/energy, infrastructure, corporate and financial sectors, and has represented clients in arbitration at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and in the courts of Mongolia up through the Supreme Court. In addition, he has been at the forefront of numerous legislation initiatives fundamental to investment and doing business in Mongolia. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Friends of Mongolia, and he is a member of the New York Bar Association and received a certificate from the Ministry of Justice as a registered foreign attorney in Mongolia.
Mr. John Bell joined Khan Bank in August 2015, as Deputy CEO for Business, and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in April 2016. Mr. Bell joined Khan Bank with more than 22 years of international banking experience, principally in consumer banking, managing distribution channels, marketing, products and service operations.
Prior to joining Khan Bank, Mr. Bell held senior positions at Citibank, ABN AMRO, and RBS, across European emerging markets and the USA. He served as Head of Citigold Wealth Management at Citibank (Poland), as well as Head of Retail Banking for the Royal Bank of Scotland in Romania. In addition, Mr. Bell directed business transformation projects for RBS in Romania and India. Mr. Bell earned his bachelor's degree from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland.
At Monpolymet Group, as the Chairwoman, she oversees the Group’s various business activities in mining, mineral explorations, rehabilitation, construction and production of building materials with over 1000 employees while focusing on delivering the Group’s business visions through improvements in governance, environmental responsibility, standardization, and business performance. A trilingual financial engineer with World Bank, Central Bank of Mongolia development economics experience that ventured both in public and private sectors. Received cum laude diplomas with double majors in undergrad and graduate studies from George Washington University in Washington, DC, USA and the University of San Francisco, CA, USA in Finance and Economics. Previously as a CEO at Monpolymet, she implemented the company’s MonCement project and successfully commissioned Mongolia’s first technologically advanced and environmentally friendly cement plant that substitutes imports. Her past professional experience includes the World Bank producing macroeconomic reports from 2009-2012 while focusing on improving the public’s understanding of the economic situation and the rationale of the government’s policy reforms, thus helping to forge consensus around the policy reform agenda. She also worked at the Central Bank of Mongolia as an economist.
Ms. Maryna is a Senior Manager in PwC Mongolia with over fifteen years of professional experience in providing a wide range of tax services to a variety of industries including Mining and Energy sectors, Consumer and Industrial Products and Services (CIPS), Pharmaceutical, Retail, Food and Beverages, Real Estate, FMCG, IT and Telecommunications.
In October 2014 Maryna joined a tax team in PricewaterhouseCoopers office in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from PricewaterhouseCoopers Ukraine. Prior to joining the firm Maryna was working with the Ukrainian Ministry of Taxation where she was responsible for the administration of corporate income tax, including tax legislation interpretation (tax rulings), development of tax laws, methodologies and regulations, participation in litigation procedures (tax appeals, court litigations) etc. In PricewaterhouseCoopers Mongolia, Maryna is responsible for co-leading the Mongolian tax practice and advising local and international companies on tax compliance, ‘tax health’ check-ups, assistance in dealing with the tax authorities, corporate restructuring projects and M&As, consulting on domestic and cross-border transactions, transfer pricing etc.
