Certified Trade Mission
August 23, 2019 - August 26, 2019
We are proud to announce that our annual Certified Trade Mission (CTM) is approaching. The Mongolia CTM allows American businesses to meet with potential agents, distributors, joint venture partners, licensees, local businesses, and government contacts to assess potential opportunities and identify challenges in doing business in Mongolia. The CTM is an efficient, highly focused approach to meet and start an initial exploratory dialogue. The CTM also provides an effective way for American companies to explore business opportunities on the ground.
AmCham Mongolia hosted its first-ever incoming Trade Mission certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce, on October 15-17, 2018, in Ulaanbaatar. Five American companies operating in agriculture, ICT and telecom, and environmental technologies took part in the AmCham Trade Mission. The Trade Mission program included meetings with prominent public and private sector representatives, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry; Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry; the Intellectual Property Office; and AmCham member representatives. A key highlight of the agenda was a matchmaking session to enable one-on-one conversations between the participating companies and potential local partners, held with the ultimate goal of identifying future partnership opportunities.
This year, CTM will be aligned with the American Days Expo so that visiting American companies can attend the Expo and participate as an exhibitor. In terms of timeframe, the proposed dates are August 23-26, 2019. The American Days Expo will take place on August 24-25 followed by the CTM.
The CTM and American Days Expo will be the highlight events of the year. Thus, we strongly encourage your participation, cooperation and support in this significant event. As a first step in actively participating in this project, we kindly ask you to disseminate and share the attached flyer on your respective social media channels and websites. It is crucial for us to collectively spread the word and attract American businesses to join the mission.
Building on this momentum AmCham Mongolia would like to organize another inbound CTM this year.
An initial call was held with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Embassy to kick-off
discussions on the CTM as soon as possible. The sector focus of this year could be franchising in broad sense to enable companies engaged in various sectors to participate as well as cashmere and agriculture sectors. The CTM 2019 is proposed to be aligned with the American Days Expo so that visiting American companies can attend the Expo and participate as an exhibitor. In terms of timeframe, the proposed dates are August 23-26, 2019. The American Days Expo will take place on August 24-25, 2019.
