AmCham Mongolia convenes for its 2020 Annual General Meeting
ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia- The American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia (AmCham Mongolia) held its Annual General Meeting 2020 on November 20, 2020. The virtual meeting was attended by 70 AmCham members, embassy representatives, foreign investors, and honorary guests. The meeting began by AmCham Mongolia’s Chairman Jay Liotta’s opening remarks, followed by remarks by the U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia Michael S. Klecheski, a presentation by AmCham Mongolia’s Executive Director Adiya Oyungerel, and an election to elect new Board of Directors.
The newly appointed five directors of the board are the Chief Financial Officer of Ard Financial Group Amarbayasgalan Enkhsaihan, Facebook Representative in Mongolia Byambajargal Ayushjav, Ernest & Young’s Executive Manager Munkhjin Batbayar, MCS Group’s Vice President Enkhtuvshin Dashtseren, and Erdenes Development Resources’ Vice President Jon Lyons. Congratulations to our new directors!
In his opening remarks, AmCham Mongolia’s Chairman Jay Liotta said, “AmCham Mongolia’s 2021 Roadmap for Growth is focused on pressing policy issues. I’m pleased that AmCham is developing and presenting these ideas and plans that will truly benefit Mongolian businesses and our members.”
In his remarks, Ambassador Klecheski said, “The U.S. and Mongolia’s economic relations are crucial for our Strategic Partnership, as it is the primary means by which our governments cooperate and how our close relationship can be translated to the public. We support government systems that promote a private-sector-led economic growth in an open and transparent manner. To achieve this, we need a robust and competitive private sector that also strengthens social responsibility, ethical ways of doing business, transparency, and anti-corruption. Needless to say, AmCham Mongolia and the business community is essential in achieving this goal.”
AmCham Mongolia’s Executive Director Adiya Oyungerel presented the 2020 Annual Report and 2021 Workplan. He quoted, “2021 will be a special year for AmCham Mongolia as we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary. We will organize 10 special events to honor our anniversary.”
