The fourth annual 2017 American Days Expo takes place with over 90 exhibitors
ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia – The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Mongolia and the U.S. Embassy hosted the fourth annual 2017 American Days Expo on September 16-17, at Misheel Expo Center, with over 90 exhibitors representing hundreds of high-quality American brands available in Mongolia.
The two-day exhibition showcases U.S. products and services, and builds awareness of the capacity of companies in Mongolia offering the world’s leading expertise and technology. The 2017 Expo featured fun activities for guests and families and informative presentations, such as the U.S. Embassy’s Information Session on the application process for U.S. visas and opportunities to study in the U.S.
The opening ceremony of the Expo took place on September 16, with special guests speakers His Excellency S. Batbold, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and Governor of the Capital City; Mr. Manuel Micaller, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar; Mr. V. Enkhbold, Head of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Jay Liotta, Chairman of AmCham Mongolia.
AmCham Chairman Jay Liotta delivered the Expo’s opening remarks and said, “Our members are strongly committed to raising the bar, advancing their fields, and staying innovative while implementing world class standards and practice. For those reasons, we promote and organize this Expo to highlight what American businesses are bringing to Mongolia.”
Deputy Chief of Mission Manuel Micaller highlighted the collaborative efforts made by AmCham and the U.S. Embassy regarding the protection of the intellectual property rights in Mongolia, and said, “The U.S. Embassy and AmCham work with Expo exhibitors and the Government of Mongolia to protect intellectual property rights. You will find that the American goods and services you see here are legitimate, reliable and high quality.”
Mayor S.Batbold spoke about his administration’s willingness work with the private sector and noted, “Ulaanbaatar is looking forward to working with AmCham Mongolia, its members, and the private sector to further develop and enhance the capital city’s economic and social development strategy.”
Director-General V. Enkhbold stressed the importance of the Transparency Agreement between the U.S.-Mongolia signed in January 2017, and said, “The Transparency Agreement is highly valuable for American businesses and investors who want to do business in Mongolia, because it will provide a transparent and reliable legal and policy environment.”
