A Joint Press Conference: Chamber of Commerces and Business Associations
A joint press conference was held today at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), bringing together leading private-sector advocacy organizations, including the American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia (AmCham), the European-Mongolian Chamber of Commerce, the Mongolian National Mining Association, the CEO Club, the Mongolian Packaging Manufacturers Association, the Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce, the Mongolian Information Technology Association, the Business Council of Mongolia, and the Insurance Market Association.
Representatives from these organizations expressed their deep concern regarding the increasing incidents of expropriation and the growing trend of vilifying private enterprises, stressing that such actions must come to an end.
AmCham Mongolia’s leadership reiterated its concern and called on government institutions to uphold the rule of law and ensure transparency in governance. AmCham Executive Director Adiya Oyungerel stated:
“What investors are seeking are not miracles, but a consistent and predictable legislative environment that enables private enterprises to thrive. The political divide has reached a new height, and we urge all parties to act responsibly during this critical time. People must understand that national wealth is primarily generated by the private sector. Whether we preserve our economic freedom or move toward a state-controlled economy is a matter of serious concern.”
Other business leaders and advocacy representatives also shared their perspectives, urging the government to refrain from slandering and making unfounded allegations against private companies.
