AmCham Speaks to Bloomberg TV Mongolia on Tax Reform, Impact of U.S. Tariffs on Trade Partners

Gerelchuluun Iderchuluun, Director of Policy and Advocacy, spoke with Bloomberg TV Mongolia on several timely topics, including tax reform, the impact of U.S. tariffs on trade partners (including Mongolia), next year’s budget planning, projected GDP, and the overall investment climate in the country.

Ms. Gerelchuluun highlighted the absence of a transparent and consistent policy framework governing Mongolia’s mineral resources sector, starting with the insufficient availability of geoscientific data. Furthermore, she emphasized that making Mongolia’s geoscientific data digital, transparent, secure, practical, and accessible in both Mongolian and English would help reduce geological risks, enhance decision-making, and significantly boost investor confidence.

Corruption, she noted, remains a systemic issue in Mongolia, particularly within state-owned enterprises that dominate key sectors such as mining and energy as cited in recent publications by several international bodies, including the Investment Climate Statement 2025.
