The development of a sound, transparent, and well-regulated capital market remains a priority for Mongolia’s economic policy. A strong capital market is essential for mobilizing domestic investment, supporting long-term financing, and ensuring sustainable economic growth. While Mongolia’s capital market has made important progress in recent years, 2025 has presented significant challenges. For the first time since 2016, no new IPOs were issued, and primary market activity declined sharply amid tight monetary policy and high savings rates. Although secondary market trading increased, overall market activity and market capitalization growth slowed considerably. As of Q3 2025, the capital market includes over 2.6 million securities account holders and more than 92,000 active participants.
