Field Visit: Advanced Water Purification Plant (AWPP) - Hosted by MCA-Mongolia
Dear colleagues and members
Pleased to invite you to an on-site visit to the Advanced Water Purification Plant (AWPP) on April 24, 2026. We encourage members to participate and gain first-hand experience at the site.
As a joint effort between the Government of Mongolia and the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Water Compact program has been successfully implemented to increase Ulaanbaatar’s overall water supply capacity. As a result of this project, the city’s water supply capacity is projected to increase by approximately 50 million cubic meters per year. This advanced purification technology is a strategic solution and a foundation for future surface water treatment.

10:00 – Guests arrive at the AWPP site
10:00 – 10:15 – Project presentation by Mr. Batsukh, Director of Downstream Wells, MCA-Mongolia
10:15 – 10:20 – Safety induction and distribution of safety helmets and vests
10:20 – 10:55 – Guided tour of the plant
10:55 – 11:00 – Group photo
11:00 – 11:30 - Concludes
The Advanced Water Purification Plant (AWPP) is located on the western side of the city. The site visit itself will take approximately one hour; however, travel time may vary depending on traffic conditions and could take 1–2 hours each way.
